Since joining Engage Advisors in 2017, Susan has come to enjoy the opportunity to work with dentists through every stage of their career. Whether she’s helping an associate get started, advising a client on strategies for growing their practice, or helping a dentist sell their practice and transition to retirement, Susan ensures her clients have a full understanding of the financial and tax considerations of owning a business.

Susan has close to 20 years of experience as an accountant, a career she first gravitated towards as a child. She recalls the year she used her Christmas money to purchase a ten-key calculator which she used to tally up cancelled checks. When she was growing up, Susan’s father owned several small businesses and she liked to help him whenever she could. Later, when she began taking accounting classes in college, she clicked with the course work and knew she’d found her place.

While Susan likes to work with numbers, she loves the friendships she’s formed with clients over the years. To keep things running smoothly, Susan prioritizes good communication, always keeping clients in the loop about what she can do to help them be financially successful in both their professional and personal lives.

Susan lives in sunny San Diego, California, but she remembers what below zero temperatures feel like from living in Minnesota for almost 20 years. She loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, and is an active volunteer at her church. Susan is also a bit of a fitness buff and has completed a handful of half marathons -with her first being just 1 week after completing a grueling Spartan Race.
