Tom Churchwell is an accountant with 35 years of experience and joined Engage Advisors because of the desired move from corporate accounting to public accounting. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Carolina State University. Earning a CPA license was rewarding in his early career, and Toms’ skills in math aligned with accounting opportunities. He takes pride in helping companies through difficult times and in using skills to improve management tools and also enjoys learning about clients’ businesses.

Tom strives to understand clients’ problems and goals, does his homework and consults with colleagues as his efforts have mostly been in preparing tax returns and the necessary accounting activities leading up to such returns. In interactions with clients, Tom gets satisfaction from helping co-workers and practicing ownership to get through the busy workload. Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time with family, long walks in the sunshine and time with the pets.
